Temple Guiting Parish Council has bought a number of Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS) to encourage drivers to keep to the speed limits across the Parish.  Data provided by Gloucestershire County Council showed that the speeding hotspots included Ford village – both directions, near the school in Temple Guiting, and on the way to the B4077 towards Stow.  Four posts were installed and equipment purchased with help from GCC.  Equipment in Ford is stationary and solar powered.  A team of volunteers now moves the remaining equipment to the other two posts in the Parish at intervals.

Results show that, in general, traffic speeds have fallen but there are some exceptional instances, for example a speed of 95 mph has been recorded in Ford.

Data from the VAS equipment – which record speeds of traffic in both directions – will be uploaded here.
